We of course have
to mention the wonderful Bridal store The Mews, here are a few words from the
wonderful ladies themselves;
"The Mews
Emporium is situated in the heart of beautiful Clifton Village in Bristol. The
luxurious bridal boutique offers timeless romanticism and enduring elegance,
capturing the spirit of the past with an essence of today.
The boutique will
seduce you from the moment you walk through the door, with its inviting décor,
opulent chandeliers and a myriad of shimmering gowns created by the very best
in British bridal couture. Their collection of wedding dresses are passionately
curated and draw on the talents and vision of the most popular and dynamic
bridal designers today, including Jenny Packham, Suzanne Neville and Stephanie
Allin."
I cannot recommend
The Mews enough, make sure you visit for a big huge swoon!
Clifton Village
has more than its fair share of jewellers, and if you're looking for something
vintage you'll find something beautiful here in one of the many tiny
independent jewellers.
There is also John
Titcombe Jewellers, if you have no idea what you want this is the best place to
start the choice is huge, which also means if you know exactly what you want
they will almost certainly have it.
If you are after
something more individual they also do commissions, you could have something
designed especially for you, what could be more special?
Call in at JohnTitcombe and sit down with one of their knowledgeable staff, who know all abut
the details of diamonds and try on to your hearts content. They can also kit
you both out with the all important wedding bands as well.
Lisa Elliot FloralDesign should definitely be on your must see list when planning your flowers.
Lisa and her team will work with you to develop your ideas and work with you
and your budget.
The shop is also
super cute, make sure to take a little hand tie home with you as well,
celebrate!
They work a lot
with venues in Bristol and the South West and can create everything you need to
decorate your day, from the Bridal bouquets, to church pew decorations and
table centrepieces, Lisa Elliot can fulfil all your needs.
So we have covered
three of the most important parts of your wedding shopping list, but what of
the gifts.
Pod... a beautiful home and gift store on the Mall, maybe you're a guest at a wedding. Pod will certainly have something fit for the Bride and Groom. Maybe even ask for gift vouchers from Pod to kit out your marital home instead of registering.

Stocking beautiful
LSA glassware, Designers Guild, Big Tomato Company ceramics, Caroline Gardner
and many more Pod is certainly well stocked and their staff will be happy to
help you choose a gift.
On the day of the
wedding it is the norm for the girls to get pampered while the men... drink
beer? Why not treat your groomsmen as well and pay a visit to a traditional
barbers for a proper wet shave and trim.
The Bristol Barber Co is a beautiful barber shop, and perfect for an amazing backdrop for the
getting ready photographs of the men, I so wish I had thought of this on my big
day.
One more little
spot we also have to mention is Lahloo Pantry, maybe break up your day of
shopping by visiting for some tea and cake and asking after their cute little
tea tins for some wedding favours (see our blog here for a photo)

Another mention
has to go to Cordial and Grace, which can host simply lovely hen parties, want
to do something other than drink yourself into a horrid hangover? Or just as
well as?
The parties
include a delicious afternoon tea and an activity such as garter making, how
fun!
The cafe is super
gorgeous too.
These are some of
our favourite places in the village, and all of them are independent, proving
once again you do not need to visit big faceless chains, and Bristol has a
wealth of experienced people who really care about you and your wedding. Go
visit them!
We have though,
missed some great spots all gathered together in the Clifton Arcade, so we have
decided to revisit Clifton very soon and write a little guide for them all of
their own.
