Kings Weston House Weddings

I am completely delighted to introduce 'Kings Weston House' a wedding venue situated on the outskirts of Bristol and very recently refurbished.

Kings Weston House was built between 1712 and 1719, is a Grade 1 listed building and one of Bristol's hidden treasures. Designed by the famous architect Sir John Vanbrugh who also designed Blenhiem Palace, this private home has opened it's doors to weddings and events from September 2013.

There are lots of very beautiful rooms you can have a reception or get married in.

The Portrait gallery holds 100 for ceremony and can also be used for reception drinks. Situated at the front of the house this room is very light and airy. A real fairy tale room. Your guests can watch you step out of your car or horse drawn carriage and walk down the aisle.

The Grand Staircase holds 120 for the ceremony and can also be used for reception drinks. Its a breathtaking room where you can wow your guests by walking down from the sweeping staircase.

The Vanbrugh suite holds 100 for the ceremony and 120 for a wedding breakfast and has views across to Wales.

They also have a gentleman's style bar and other smaller rooms suitable for all events.

We had a fab opening with a wedding fayre that I will blog very soon but for now you can look at

Recommended... Hair at 58

Today we re-visit a place we discovered on our Cotham walk... Hair at 58. We loved the glamorous salon and the lovely staff so decided to find out a bit more about them and let you all know about this lovely spot.

Hair at 58 opened in 2009 on Cotham Hill by Sam Bell, a then 30 year old hairdresser with a dream of creating a beautiful salon. Hair at 58 has gone from strength to strength and was awarded the British Hairdressing business award for independent salon business newcomer in 2011, followed by a nomination for salon of the year in 2012.

Tell us about your team

The 12 strong team are a real mix of individuals. With a wealth of training from varied backgrounds, we have experts in colour, hair up and cutting. We are friendly, passionate hairdressers with vision.

The salon is a beautiful really glamorous place to be pampered tells us what services you offer to brides to be?

We can tailor wedding packages to suit your needs. We offer bridal trials, manicures and Aveda make-up, as well as essential maintenance (spray tanning, tinting, waxing) prior to the big day. We believe in thorough consultation, taking into account your dress, colour scheme, personality, style and hair texture. We can also bring a team to your venue if necessary.

What about the bridesmaid and mothers, do you have space for an entire party bridal party?

Mums and bridesmaids are welcome, have a glass of champagne, get your hair, nails and makeup done together. We offer relaxing head, neck and shoulder massages also, so you can sit back and relax in beautiful surroundings while we work our magic.

Bob and Damien, a Civil Partnership

It was a really memorable day as Bob and Damien were just the loveliest couple ever and the planning process was SO much fun... get ready we couldn't have possible whittled the photographs down any more than we did...

They arrived by boat, in the beautiful Patience....

Then the whole wedding party headed to Queens Square for some music and drinks in the sunshine...

What an amazing backdrop for wedding photographs!

Meanwhile we changed the restaurant around ready for the wedding breakfast... there was a little Mr Men theme going on...

They had a great British Bake Off theme for their cakes, with guests each bringing something to be judged later on in the evening... before everyone tucked in. We have never seen such a spread of wedding cakes, sweets and treats!

Bob and Damien had thought of everything turning our parade into a games area to keep non-dancers entertained...

Not that there were many non-dancers, the dancefloor was packed!

Seriously a beautiful day with a beautiful couple, we absolutely adored their speech were they mostly praised and showered their friends and family with love.

Congratulations again Bob and Damien! Please re-new your vows with us!!! xx
